Historic Timber Framing | North Bennet Street School

In this community education course, students construct a traditional timber frame structure using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, learning the layout of historic New England timber framed structures, including barns and dwellings. Construction methods include employment of traditional tools such as timber framing chisels, mallets, handsaws, hand-cranked boring machines, and marking gauges.

This structure was then hand-raised on the Rose Kennedy Greenway.
